Growing up in a family of dentists and marrying into a family of business owners I have seen firsthand the many successes and struggles which take place throughout their careers. As a result of these experiences and our passion for their work, at NaviPath Financial, we work with many professionals in the dental, medical and business owner space. We also advise many individuals in their respective careers.
My hope is that by educating clients and giving them the tools to understand their comprehensive financial picture, I can build long term trust and lasting relationships that will help pursue their goals. For business owners: My team offers business planning and bench marking strategies designed to help increase the business value and to protect the most important assets of the business. I have experience with the design and implementation of qualified and non-qualified compensation plans that can help attract, retain and reward key employees.
For individuals and families: My team offers tax sensitive investment advice, portfolio evaluations, retirement forecasting, estate planning, insurance reviews and cash flow management strategies. I have been in the financial services industry since 2004 and registered since 2006. I hold a Series 7, 65 and 63 licenses along with life, health and long-term care insurance licenses. As a native of the Charlotte area and after 11 years working in New York City, I decided to move my family home to launch my financial planning practice and NaviPath Financial.
I am actively involved in the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business Alumni Council and Pi Kappa Phi. I currently live in Belmont, NC, with my wife and two young children.
Ryan Whitley, CFP® has been in the financial services industry since 2005. Prior to starting NaviPath Financial, he spent 10 years working with clients at multiple career financial planning firms. Noticing a transition in the industry, away from product and towards true independent planning, he felt the need to structure his firm to most benefit his clients, thus NaviPath Financial was born.
Growing up in a family of business owners and marrying into a family of dentists and medical professionals, Ryan has seen firsthand the challenges busy professionals face when it comes to managing their finances. Planning and practice management are at the core of his business. Ryan’s ultimate goal for his clients is to lessen their financial burdens and reduce stress around money.
Logan is a graduate of Penn State University where he received a B.S. in Finance with an emphasis in Investment Risk Analysis and Financial Planning. He grew up working in his family’s dental consulting business, Schwartz Consulting Group, as a customer success manager.
Logan’s primary focus with NaviPath Financial is to help clients achieve financial security by offering creative and insightful financial solutions. He brings extensive knowledge and experience in the dental practice management space that will be invaluable to NaviPath’s clients.
When Logan is not assisting clients, he can be found on a golf course, at the gym, or exploring the city for new places to eat.
Lukas is a graduate from UNC Charlotte where he received a B.A. in Political Science. He also comes to us with 3 years of experience in the financial service industry. He joined us as a Client Relationship Manager and is looking forward to assisting clients with any needs they have and finding ways to improve the quality of our services!
When Lukas is not helping clients, he enjoys reading and hanging out with his dog, Wolfgang.

Rick Wedell joined RFG Advisory as Partner and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in 2016. As CIO and leader of RFG's Investment Team, Rick manages multi-asset portfolios and provides strategic insights on asset allocation and portfolio construction. Rick also leads the design and enhancements of RFG's custom-built, institutional-caliber, client-focused investment platform known as "Bluemonte", currently managing over $1 billion of assets under management.
Rick's guiding principle is simple, straightforward analysis coupled with a consistent, rigorous investment process. Recognizing that foundations and family offices often enjoy a significantly higher level of access and sophistication around portfolio management, Rick designed an innovative investment experience focused on bringing that level of service and direct accessibility to financial advisors at RFG Advisory.
Before joining RFG, Rick spent 12 years at Bain Capital Credit, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Vice President, Head of Fixed Income Consumer Investments, and Assistant Portfolio Manager. Rick played an instrumental role in helping Bain grow to become a global investment powerhouse, serving client assets in excess of $30 billion.
Managing portfolios through the volatile markets of 2001 and 2008, Rick experienced firsthand the importance of portfolio diversification and the trade-offs between risk and portfolio return. He applies those same lessons today to managing client and institutional portfolios at RFG Advisory.
Named a 2021 LUMINARY by ThinkAdvisor for Thought-Leadership & Education, Rick conducts client events, seminars, and workshops around the country and a bi-weekly series called Market Commentary with Rick Wedell on YouTube. From customized asset allocation recommendations to detailed investment analysis, he also works one-on-one with our Advisors and their clients to construct customized portfolios that help meet their defined goals.
